Garage Manager
Are you a skilled leader with a passion for people management? We are currently seeking a Garage Manager (Trailer Shop) to lead and oversee our repair and maintenance operations. As a key part of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and performance of our trailer fleet, while managing a team of garage professionals. What You’ll Do:
- Lead and Inspire: Manage and provide strong leadership to a team of professional garage maintenance personnel, ensuring smooth operations and a productive, safe working environment.
- Safety First: Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings to promote safe work practices, prevent injuries, and uphold occupational health & safety protocols.
- Collaborate with HR: Work closely with Human Resources to implement policies that foster a safe, engaging, and compliant work environment for all team members.
- Oversee Repairs: Supervise the repair and maintenance of trailers, ensuring quality workmanship and the proper use of parts for efficient, reliable service.
- Daily Reporting: Provide regular updates to the operations team on the status of repairs and trailer in-service times.
- Supplier Coordination: Work with suppliers to resolve technical issues and minimize downtime of trailers.
- Schedule and Assign Work: Organize garage personnel schedules and assign workloads to maximize efficiency and meet business needs.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of repairs, rework, and warranty claims, ensuring high standards of workmanship from Technicians and Apprentices.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate vehicle records and repair data in the fleet management system to support maintenance operations.

- Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess situations, identify problems, and implement solutions that meet the needs of the business.
- Team Building: A natural people manager with the ability to foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- High volume of communication with customers, terminals, and agents via email and phone
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with evening and weekend support as required
Education & Requirements:
- 5+ years of industry-related experience
- Experience within a managerial role coaching and advising employees
- Completion of college/vocational school or technical training
- Class A Mechanic’s License and Red Seal Certification are assets, but not essential
- Valid driver’s license required

Technical Skills:
- Experience and understanding of the TruckMate System and RTA is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with the ability to prepare reports in Word and Excel.
- Strong typing and computer skills.
