Armour Transportation is looking for a Shift Dispatcher based out of our Moncton, NB location.  

Position Overview: The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of equipment and freight by collaborating with internal teams, drivers, and customers to address logistical challenges. This position involves coordinating equipment utilization, providing clear communication to drivers, and supporting planning and revenue operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel in problem-solving and time management, and possess strong technical and leadership skills to drive efficiency and operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with all departments, terminals, and customers to eliminate barriers in equipment and freight movement.
  • Provide clear communication to drivers, ensuring they have the necessary paperwork and information for successful job completion.
  • Support internal teams as needed, ensuring special circumstances for planning and revenue are properly addressed.
  • Coordinate equipment utilization and maintenance while seeking opportunities to reduce empty miles.
  • Attend scheduled meetings, training sessions, and events (e.g., transition meetings, daily reviews, safety meetings, and employee events).
  • Work with drivers to plan vacation coverage weekly and keep supervisors informed of the visibility plan.

What We’re Looking For

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a 2/2/3 schedule with 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM).

  • Capacity to manage high volumes of communication with customers and drivers via email, satellite, and phone.

Essential Competencies:

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical decision-making abilities.
  • Effective leadership skills and the ability to communicate clearly with teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze situations, resolve conflicts, and negotiate win-win outcomes.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with the TruckMate system is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the ability to prepare reports in Word and Excel.
  • Strong typing and general computer skills.
