Armour Transportation Systems is looking for a Recruitment & Retention Coordinator based out of our St. John's, NL location.
Position Overview: The Recruitment Coordinator focuses on finding and hiring drivers to meet the company’s needs. This role handles everything from posting jobs to onboarding new hires, making sure the hiring process runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll also help with other HR projects and keep track of recruitment data.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment

Coordinate the full cycle recruiting process for various employment groups, including:
- Posting job ads on websites and job boards.
- Travelling across the island to recruit and engage with professional drivers, ensuring a strong pipline of qualified candidates.
- Pre-screening candidates and setting up interviews (virtual or in-person).
- Checking qualifications, licenses, and certifications.
- Coordinating background checks and drug/alcohol testing.
- Draft and issue employment offers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Build relationships with candidates and help create a good hiring experience.
Recruitment Events:
- Plan and attend driver-focused events like job fairs and open houses.
- Work with the marketing team to create ads and campaigns to attract drivers.
Onboarding and Retention:
- Help new hires through the onboarding process, making sure they meet all requirements.
- Conduct exit interviews and gather feedback to improve retention.
- Assist in creating programs that keep drivers engaged and happy.
Reports and Metrics:
- Keep track of recruitment numbers, like time-to-hire and pipeline progress.
- Help prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly recruitment reports.
Administrative Support:
- Provide admin help for recruitment and HR activities.
- Jump in on special projects or other tasks when needed.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Key Skills:
- At least 2 years in a similar role. Experience recruiting for driver or logistics roles an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with candidates and teams.
- Able to work independently and handle a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on improving processes.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with ATS or recruitment tools is a plus.
